President's Message
(August 2025)
Dear Fellow Woodturners,
Yes, we are definitely in the, "Lathes days of summer". Yes, it's the perfect weather to stay inside and play in your workshop.
August 2, 2025 at 9:00 AM, is the date and time of the next AWT's meeting. Please dress appropriately for the hot weather we are experiencing; unfortunately, shirts are required.
The demonstrator for the August meeting will be Lenny Nederveld. Lenny will do a presentation on safety in the workshop; more specifically, when you are turning.
On behalf of the club, THANK YOU, to Steve Nix for demonstrating the measuring cup hanger, great demo. I also would like to thank the members that brought the delicious food, your generosity is much appreciated. The "Bring Back" was won by Ron D'Aunoy, he will receive Monte Richard's piece.
The "Show and Tell" participation keeps getting better all of the time, and thanks to all who participate. Keep in mind the "President's Challenge", which is a tool handle, that is due at the September meeting at which time we will draw for the one-year membership for AWT and the AAW.
We are entertaining the idea of a wood raffle in conjunction with the September meeting. Start putting aside the wood you would like to donate or anything else you would like to pass one: finishing supplies, tools, mother-law, etc.
