President's Message
(October 2025)
Greetings Fellow Woodturners:
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life to its fullest. I was not able to attend the October meeting, but I've been briefed as to the proceedings of the day. I would like to thank Monte Richard for an awesome demo; there were many comments on how well prepared and how thorough his presentation was. Thank you, Monte.
I was informed that the Election Committee had completed and finalized the ballot presentation and it was approved by the members. At the upcoming meeting, Saturday, November 1, 2025, we will vote for the Officers and Board members for the years 2026 and 2027. NO PROXY VOTES!
The December meeting will host the Christmas Ornament Swap, so start working on those beautiful ornaments.
The demonstrator for the November meeting will be Mike Monte. Mike will demo his method of creating his beautiful pens. Thanks Mike, I'm looking forward to your demo.
Always an exciting moment, "The Bring Back". Jose Santiago won Gerard's beautiful bowl. I'm anxious to see what Jose's bring back will be.
Last but not least, by a long shot. The "Show & Tell", in conjunction with a Q & A. This is when you have the opportunity to show off your beautiful work and ask questions - like, "How in the hell you did that". Yes, we do have great talent in the club, and they share their knowledge unselfishly. Remember we all have room for improvement and that's the purpose of the "Show & Tell".
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to partake in the goodies that were brought by our generous members, but from what I heard, I missed out on some good stuff. Thanks for your generosity, it's appreciated. Hope to visit with everyone - Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
Cordially,
Garland J. Barras
